1st Annual Furniture Show & Sale

Sign The Berkshire Woodworkers Guild saw wonderful turnout for the 1st Annual Show & Sale at the Berkshire Botanical Garden, Stockbridge, Mass., August 26 and 27, 2000.

Some thirty members of this group of custom woodworkers displayed their work and offered selected pieces for sale.

At left, Gene Shalit and Guild member Michael Costerisan pose behind an Art Deco-style cabinet. At the show, Guild members offered a range of custom woodworking, from desks, end tables, mirrors, chairs, shelving, millwork, Shaker furniture, and antique reproductions and restoration to kitchen cabinets, tables, chairs, beds, and chests of drawers. Many hundreds of people met the woodworkers over the weekend and marveled at the quality of the work.

DemoAt right, Robert Raymaakers of Shaker Valley Woodworks demonstrated how to re-cane a chair.

Here are some photos of the woodworkers, their furniture, and the crowds who came to view their work. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!
